In 1593 Georges de La Tour was born in Vic-sur-Seille, the second of seven children of a baker. In 1618 he married Diane Le Nerf, the daughter of a financial administrator to the Duke of Lorraine. His works are shown e.g. in the Paris Louvre, New York Metropolitan Museum ….  He died in 1652 in nearby Lunéville. (Source: Wikipedia)
